At North Stonington Christian Academy, regular attendance of all students is expected. Regularity and punctuality are important in the student's character development. As an educational institution, NSCA exercises certain procedures in order to standardize and insure quality education for all students.
Excessive absences or tardiness, whether excused or unexcused, have a negative effect on a child's school learning accomplishment.
Total absences for a school year should not exceed 32 days. Absences in excess of this number may require the repeating of a grade.
TARDINESS: Classes begin promptly at 8:30 AM. Tardiness affects the entire class and should be kept to a minimum. The Academy realizes that there are occasional accidents, emergencies and inclement weather that make travel to school slower. Notes indicating that these were the cause of the tardiness will result in its being excused. If a student arrives at school after 8:30 AM, he or she should report directly to the main office for a late pass that should then be presented to the classroom teacher.
